Continue in our Founding Fathers' footsteps

If you are ready to step forward and continue in our founding fathers’ footsteps to promote leadership, you may be the perfect candidate for the Youth Leadership Council.

During Youth Tour, you will have the opportunity to show your leadership skills and be selected as Indiana’s Youth Leadership Council delegate. As a YLC candidate, you will be provided a topic on which to research and deliver a short speech, be observed with your Youth Tour peers for leadership abilities and positive influences, and participate in an interview with chaperones.

If selected as the YLC delegate, you will attend a YLC conference in July, representing Indiana on a council of states while developing leadership and public-speaking skills. You will attend and speak at the Indiana Electric Cooperatives Annual Meeting in Indianapolis, and attend the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) Annual Meeting to participate in a variety of activities. The Indiana delegate will also receive a $1,000 scholarship to be used at an institution of higher learning of his/ her choice.
