Operation Round Up Provides Grants
Through our Operation Round Up program, Tipmont REMC is providing more than $14,000 in grants to eight local and area nonprofit organizations.
Money for the grants is generated by members who agree to have their monthly bills rounded up to the next highest dollar.
More than 9,100 Tipmont customers participate in the program, which has distributed nearly $648,000 to nonprofits since it was introduced 10 years ago.
"This program is all about helping communities and people," said Tim McCarthy, Tipmont chief executive officer. "It's a convenient, inexpensive way for individuals to help a little, and those pennies quickly add up to dollars that make a big difference to nonprofit organizations."
