Notice: Effective February 1, 2010, Tipmont REMC will no longer provide maintenance or repair of electric water heaters.
Members who participate in Tipmont REMC’s Load Management Program have a switch installed on their water heater to allow the cooperative to “control” the water heater for short periods of time. This allows Tipmont to lower our system’s energy usage during peak hours.
As an incentive for participation, Tipmont offers rebates for new electric water heaters and provides one water heater repair kit per year for each location where aload management switch is installed. Water heater repair kits include two thermostats, two elements, and an information booklet. Repair kits are available at the Linden business office during normal business hours. (Tipmont REMC may ask to inspect the load management switch when a water heater repair kit is requested.)
