In addition to fire and security monitoring, OneTouch can provide other options such as medical alerts, low temperature sensors, carbon monoxide detectors, water/flood sensors, furnace outage reporting and more.

Its service territory covers the full geographic area served by the four REMCs and other homes and businesses within a 90-minute drive of Lafayette.

To begin service, OneTouch visits the site to help determine what protection is needed.  The home or business owner purchases the system, then pays a monthly fee for monitoring services.  Originally established in 1973, the security business was acquired by the four REMCs in early 1999 and renamed OneTouch Security Plus.
