To see for yourself.................... Pull out your last monthly or quarterly long distance billing statement and count the total number of minutes you used for long distance calling. This should include the calls within Indiana. (They are usually at a much higher rate)  Now look for the subtotal of long distance charges near the bottom of the bill (before the taxes and monthly fees).  Now, divide the subtotal amount of money by the number of minutes you used.

Example: $12.00 subtotal due on your billing divided by 60 minutes =  $ 0.20   (20 cents a minute)

The same amount of long distance minutes with Tipmont/TWN would be  $2.94 (at a rate of 4.9 cents a minute)

Important Notice About Your TWN Long Distance Service!

In order for us to continue to provide reliable, low cost long distance services, TWN has decided to change their primary carrier from Global Crossing to Qwest.  TWN is in the process of migrating all TWN long distance customers to Qwest.  All customers have been notified on their TWN bill.  For the majority of our customers, this switch will appear to be seamless.

For customers with a PIC (Presubscribed Interexchange Carrier) freeze (a code to prevent unauthorized switching of service or slamming) on their account, a TWN Customer Service Representative will be contacting you by phone to assist in the switch. With PIC freeze accounts, your LEC (Local Exchange Carrier) local telephone company will need to be notified of the new carrier code.  Customers who live in areas served by smaller local providers (independent local telephone companies) may also call you and ask about the proposed PIC change, and what PIC code they need to be switched over to. The correct PIC code is 0432 (Qwest)

Most customers will not see any additional charges on their local phone bill.  However, if you incur a switching fee by your local telephone company, you should mail or fax a copy of the invoice with the switching fee, and TWN will credit your long distance account the amount of the switching fee.

If you have any questions with the migration, please don't hesitate to call TWN at 1-888.297.6616.

* Switching can take anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks. Many customers have experienced delays due to problems caused by their PICC freeze.  If you are experiencing delays, please contact us and we will be glad to help you.  The term "nationwide calling" refers to the continental 48 states only. To be reimbursed for switching fees, it is necessary for the customer to mail in a copy of their local telephone bill which indicates the fees charged for switching long distance carriers.  The switching fees will then be credited to your next Tipmont/TransWorld bill.
