Tipmont has a list of accounts that are put on a
priority list in case of a scheduled power outage. Our maps in dispatch
and the customer’s account are marked. In the event of a planned outage,
we will notify the member. In the event of a storm, accident, or other
unexpected outage, we do take extra care to try and get the power restored
as quickly as possible.
To be put on this priority list it is necessary for
the member to have their doctor send us a letter indicating the need for
electrically operated life support. The letter should include type of life
support equipment, the address, and the person in the household in need of
the life support.
Although we do our best to maintain reliable
electric lines, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted electric service. We
encourage our members to plan for the unexpected by having an alternate
plan.
