Rather than writing a check each month, you may choose to have your electric bill automatically deducted from your bank, credit union, or savings and loan account.  This service is called Direct Payment.  With Direct Payment, you have no check to write and no payment to mail.  In addition, as long as there are adequate funds in your account to cover the bill, your payment will always be made on time, so you will avoid paying a late fee.
